The Dark Conspiracy mod CANCELED! (05 September 2008 - 16:24)
Reported by Naval War

The mod Dark Rain was working on (The Dark Conspiracy) has been cancelled! This was caused by a weapon bug, conserning the player character. So Dark Rain deleted most of the mod, only the tileset stayed. But, Dark Rain is going to make a multiplayer mod out of the rest! Containing, like Dark Rain said: 10 maps maybe! Dark Rain hasent got any inspiration left to do the rest. (It must have been quite a shock, loosing that much u know!) Very Breaking News! Rod 3D Announced (01 February 2008 - 07:54)
Reported by James Bunting

Rod 3D is a remake of Rod and is due for release in Q1 2008. Beta testing will start in February.

Being a remake, Rod 3D keeps many of the original game’s properties for example tiles and a basic selection of objects and enemies. In basic terms this is a 3D game where tiles have heights and models replace older object sprites.

Testing will begin soon, in the meantime Mike323 has written an article discussing his experience with the game. http://mike.jbgames.com/

Classic Meteor Mod (02 June 2007 - 15:34)
Reported by Papercut

Classic meteor mod is another one of my M1 mods that instead of running on it's own theme, like my previous mods, This mod will just be a huge set of M1 maps that use the as much of the original enemies and tileset as possible. It's not really that much of a mod, just a huge assortment of maps. No release date is has been made yet, but 15 or so maps are already done.

M2 makes its mark in google! (16 March 2007 - 22:22)
Reported by JohnnyRancid

Currently, searching for Meteor 2 gets jbgames.com as the first source. M2 screenshots also start showing up after the third image result for Meteor 2. This is rather remarkable as meteor is a common word, and often gets placed last behind buckets of wikipedia pages and astronomy websites. In your face NASA!

Though Meteor has no mark on google video, and will most likely be placed behind because of some sort of Chinese television show called "Meteor Garden". So you know what that means; Start recording Meteor Vids!

#meteor2 IRC made easy! (10 March 2007 - 02:02)
Reported by Papercut

Aleksanteri has released a little program that makes it easy to reach the meteor2 channel via IRC. Its completely free, though it is limited to only connecting to the #meteor2 channel. It is also limited in much other customizations, though other than that it is a great program. Just open it up, tell it your name, and your connected. So fast it can run on a Windows95 at light speed. It's also less than 1MB. Totally worth to download, as it makes chatting with other Meteor players so easy Ms. Goose could do it.

Get it now at this link:

MSA reporting in! (09 March 2007 - 22:44)
Reported by Papercut

Aleksanteri has announced that his latest mod, MSA is nearing it's release. He is currently working on the last mission, and still needs to make several miscellaneous bug fixes. It is suspected to be released sometime before the end of March. He has also admitted that he is sure that MSA could be his best work to date. We can all tell by his last project, Nuclear Facility, that this one should be really good.

(Check it out on this page.)">http://www.meteormods.com/meteor/mods.asp">this page.)

Stay on you toes and check the forums frequently for the final release of MSA.

Objects Resource File not Abandoned! (27 January 2007 - 04:30)
Reported by Papercut

Even though it's been almost a year in development period, Papercut's ''Objects Resource File'' is still existing. It still needs to be assembled together, and thus will take some time (Because I rarely get around to it.) There are currently 22 objects in the file. You can still submit your own homemade objects to be implemented into the file for redistribution at papercut1425@yahoo.com. Release date is still unsure of, but should still open up more oppurtunities to meteor 2 modding. Keep sending in objects!

Papercut Out -

Meteor 2 v1.3 beta testing starts this weekend (24 January 2007 - 12:33)
Reported by James Bunting

Meteor 2 v1.3 will begin beta testing this weekend (or perhaps earlier). This means that beta subscribers will be able to obtain it from the weekend for testing.

v1.3 is a big leap from v1.21 so there is a lot to test. Testing the multiplayer code is especially important.

Once we are all happy that the beta performs I will roll out v1.3.

Cooper at Large (22 January 2007 - 01:11)
Reported by me_mantis

The local jail finally got enough money scraped together to clean up the blue block, and they send Cooper's remains to a lab. The lab returned a ery disturbing report. The DNA appeared to be a cloned version of coopers DNA, meaning that cooper is most likely still free and devising evil schemes.
In other news, a man who looked like Cooper was seen working in a dishwasher factory outside Farview. When confronted, he denied being named cooper and stated that cooper didn't ever have a mustache or a beard. The local police dropped all allegations.
